Ive been dwelling on the idea of an AXMC/ASR for almost a year now, and i plan to dwell for atleast another year. That being said my research has lead me to beleive that the AXSR is the greatest thing since guns where invented!
Im eventually planning on using mine in 308 for FTR and PRS, 300 PRC for ELR and maybe some hunting and have even looked at the 37XC for the day when i need to shoot 3 kilometers!

One of them I have is LA only. Other new one is a mix of stuff. The mix of stuff gun replaced one refundant other rifle, but both are just a part of the collection.

Planning on 300 PRC and 6.5 PRC. Would like to give the 300 Norma a try but I am a little concerned about barrel life and other stories of just not playing nice with the AXMC.

Don't quote me as I haven't researched much on the 300NM in regards to the AXMC specifically, but I think you just need to make sure that the 300NM freebore is sufficient. A bit over SAAMI is what I have heard is the ticket.

Wintactical is going over SAAMI on their 300NM chambers now.

Barrel life, yep it's going to suck, unfortunately. Damn physics!

Factory ammo is so expensive for 300 Norma that the cost of a new barrel seems like nothing. $4.50 a round for the factory 225 eld ammo. So 1000 rounds is 4500 bucks. Of course if you hand load your not near that. But is that 100 fps or less worth the cost?? Up to the shooter but that 300 PRC seems to look much better when you run the numbers.

That is crazy. I haven't shot factory ammo in forever so I rarely keep up with the prices. Well I take that back, I will grab 9mm on a deal, an it goes without saying .22LR.

300PRC does look promising, but what always holds these "wildcats" back is brass quality. Hornady develops these new ideas and engineering/R&D into bullets and ballistics but has some of the shittiest brass on the market. Still amazes me to this day!

Perfect and now popular example, 260 Remington. Essentially it was the 6.5 CM+ of "back in the day", but with shit brass it nearly completely died off. Lapua can be thanked for that resurrection. If Lapua produces brass for 300PRC then it's probably on. Luckily they didn't just change the shoulder and remove the belt... 300 PRC, tada!

I definitely agree on the price! I think it's about is a $50 difference between 20 rounds of Hornaday 300 PRC and 20 rounds of Berger 300 Norma and I unfortunately don’t reload.

I'm admittedly torn on what calibers I'll run. I was thinking I'd get a 6.5CM setup as soon as the bolts were avilable (I"m hearing May). But I really like my Tikka TAC A1 and have no strong reason to replace that. I'm regularly getting ~0.4" groups these days even with American Gunner ammo.

So now I'm just deciding for magnum & lapua bolt setups. Interesting to me are the 300NM, 300PRC, and 6.5PRC. Will likely order up a Proof steel 6.5 PRC barrel pretty quick here. I see Proof AI Prefits in 300PRC but only in CF, which seems a counter-intuitive for such a heavy rifle already.
