I have two rifles that are integrally suppressed and ported.

One is a Ruger 77/44 (AWC)
The other is a Spikes tactical Brown recluse (9MM AR)

They both have awful velocity spreads no matter what I use for ammo.
Anyone have any experience with ported barrels like this?
I understand they are ported to keep the rounds subsonic, but If I am loading myself I can solve that problem without holes in the barrel.
Should I just get them rebarrel? Ive had a couple people suggest just having someone weld the ports shut(that seems a little drastic)

You could tap the port holes, and thread in set screws to fill the ones you needed to.
