so i was thinking about getting my barrel and i guess chamber? powder coated matte black. there is a company not far away that powder coats and welds. would it be ok to have them do it if they just powder coat and have no experiance with guns. i was thinking just plug the barrel and where ever i dont want it coated and let them do it. or would it be better to send it to a gun smith. in powder coating isnt heat involved to bake it on so could there be some undesireable tempering/untempering to the barrel. sorry im new at this.

Or just krylon it. I kryloned my 10/22 and its pretty durable. Just degrease it.

You do not want your rifle (chamber?????) powder coated, it goes on way to thick. Cerakote is your best friend.
