I have a new 6.5 cm with a 26” barrel, planning on loading 147 eldm’s. I was looking at the new Winchester staball 6.5 but was reading it has temp sensative issues. Was wondering if anybody had another powder they would recommend for that setup

theres a whole thread about 6.5 in the reloading section. H4350 and RL16 seem to be the top.

I've had some luck testing Staball. Hornady uses H100v in its American Gunner ammo.

Temperature sensitivity doesn't matter as long as you log data/dope in different temperatureconditions and know how it effects your velocity and exterior Ballistics

Here are some general powder choices IMR 4451 Enduron, H4350, IMR 4350, Shooters World SW4350, Reloder 16, Reloder 17, Reloder 23, Reloder 26

Also......

This is from the Sierra Manual for their 150 SMK in 6.5 Creedmoor

I think I’m going to try the staball. I’m around 6-800 elevation and notice I have to stay pretty low on the charges but I see the staball at max load has less psi than most and isn’t compressed. I guess the best way is to give it a shot and see for myself lol

Ya, it’s not available off the shelf around here and online a guy feels obliged to buy a big jug if he’s going to pay the hazmat. I’m curious how it would work in 6.5-284 as well so I guess I might as well try it out. Guess part of my problem is money isn’t exactly falling out of my pockets so I really try to weigh things out before I dive in. Lots of good info on here but trying to pin down specifics like 26” barrel and 147gr at 6-800’ elevation might take a lot of digging

Bought RL16 and H4350 around July last year for 6.5cm load dev. I have not tried the h4350 until now just because RL16 is shooting very well using 140gr and 147gr projectiles.

new hodgon reloading ,manual says for the 143 gr bullet 43.5 gr of pwdr gets 2772 fps 60,800 pressure that is max load of course we all know they play it safe hv fun
