In the anticipation of my new baby, I just had a question pop in my head.

Does the parallax adjustment turn around (independent of) the illumination knob, or does the illumination knob turn with (inside) the parallax knob?

The parallax knob turns independently from the illumination knob. If you turn one the other will not move.
