My wife and I went away for the 4th of July weekend and while she was doing her thing (reading and relaxing), I took off for a few hours to do a bit of deer scouting. We were not far from where I'll be hunting in the CA deer opener next month (Mendocino coastal range) and I figured it would be a good time to see what was around. I was able to get about 60 yards from this little buck before he and his buddy (a slightly smaller one, not in the picture) heard me and took off. The area was absolutely littered with does.
