Several years ago my father and I each had rifles built on Nesika actions in 7.82 Patriot. At the same time the smith put those together he also spun up a couple of barrels in 7.21 Tomahawk. Both Lazzeroni chamberings.

Instead of turning our rifles into some sort of switch barrel setup which we don't want to do can those barrels be threaded on new Nesika actions without trouble? What about a Defiance action?

Separately I'm not so much a fan of the Lazzeroni chambering and would like to switch to a 7saum. Showing my ignorance of the cartridge and dimensions would a simble rechamber do it or do the dimensions of the saum prohibit a rechamber?

Any help would be appreciated.

Chad at LRI has done all of my previous work and he would get the project if it is feasible.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on the features of the barrel (flutes, brakes, etc), but if the new nesika has the same thread dimensions, all that would be required would be checking and possibly adjusting headspace. Never worked on a nesika, and dont know how consistent they are.

edited. Just glancing over cartridge dimensions, it doesnt look like the rsaum or wsm would be a simple rechamber.

Legacy Nesika actions: 1-1/16-18 pitch. I've seen the recent stuff done both ways. They are still made today, right down the street from us.

Standard late model Defiance actions are 16 pitch. Now, I do believe they'll make them 18 if you wish, but your going to be waiting a little bit as they'll likely have to be made to order.

I would explore the idea of just stabbing a new stick on the receiver. Only because if the guns are built "right" then the barrel channels should be mirroring the barrel. Setting back a barrel is going to skew this a bit.
