I just picked up a MATEN receiver set and I'm in need of a 6.5 barrel. There is a shop not far from me Precision Firearms in WV. Anyone have any experience with their barrels? They are using bartlein blanks but I just haven't heard from anyone using them. Are they good to go? Will they preform up there with a barrel from GAP?

Mark will take care of you. I've heard nothing but good about him and his company. My next upper is coming from him. He stands behind any accuracy guarantee he makes as well.

I wish PF or JP or GAP were local. I suppose I have Lilja close by (300+ miles). Envious when I see a post of someone stating how close a quality shop is to their location.

PF are actually Precision-made, not what we typically see when the laundry list of companies slap "precision" on their name and crank out mediocre products.

Mark's receivers don't have tool marks on them, and that's before he tumbles them. I haven't seen that with many people in any industry.

His uppers typically shoot 1/2 MOA.

I spoke to Mark this week about a semi-custom 6.5G Bartlein pipe i've been dreaming up. Fluted, medium HBAR, intermediate length gas, 16" threaded 5/8-24........ $1,065 with an 8-10 week wait time. I decided to sleep on it. Thats a tough pill to swallow, but i know it'll be as accurate or more so than anything else ive ever owned. Hard to get past it though when i get John to build me an identical spec 223 wylde for $480. I dont know, jury's still out.
