Driving from Upstate NY to Denver next weekend plus or minus and checking the weather ~ or trying to check the weather that is.

What's the best way to get a good idea of weather trends for 2-3 day window of driving through multiple systems and regions?

I already know it's too early to predicate more than 5-6 days out but middle of next week I need to make some firmer decision about my blast off and ETA.

I tried the weather.gov map and it seems to only do high and low pressure, which I can roughly tell but I can't figure out the severity. I probably need something simpler.

Also is Mile High worth stopping buy if I just browse and pick up stocks without buying anything?

When I am doing motorcycle trips, I use weather.com. 5 Day forecasts are about the best I've found. Since more than a few of my trips have been above the Arctic Circle and into some very high-altitude and oddball places... weather prediction is a bit important. And can be life-saving. So far, these guys have not let me down.

Others may differ. But they are pretty darn good! You can search on zip codes across your route and get an idea of what you might run into.

Cheers,

Sirhr

You'd probably better sign up for a few hours of ground school while you're at it, to learn how to decipher all of this crap to build a bigger mental picture. :ROFLMAO:o_O

But once you start to understand it, you can start to learn how to predict trends in WX patterns. It's a dark art for sure, but you'll be grateful later!
