I've got a 223 bolt gun, gonna have muzzle threaded. 1/2-28 or 5/8-24, which would be better? Obviously, 1/2-28 is generally standard on 22 cal, and I don't live in a suppressor friendly state but do shoot in Indiana with friends that do have cans. Most are qd, asr and yhm, i can find deals on 5/8-24 asr brakes. Just trying to see which would be better, keeping in mind resale of rifle down the road.

5/8-24 is far more popular on everything from 6mm's to .308's. Some people will go with the smaller thread if there isn't enough meat on the barrel to leave a shoulder for the larger size.
