Ok, so I have build about a dozen AR-15s, I got that process down no issues....i decided to step over to rebarreling some of my bolt actions...I bought some prefit barrels to put on my Ruger American and Howa actions...I bought an action wrench for the Rugers but NOT sure which action wrench I should get for the Howa...... I will be working on the following actions, Big Horn SR3, Kelblys Atlas Tactical, Howa Mini Action, Ruger American Action.

Looking for recommendations on action wrench and barrel vices..... Thanks in advance...

I think both the brownells and the NSS wrench can be used on the flat bottomed howa. I believe you just use the flat side instead of the semi circle relieved side? I know thats how the nss works, not sure about the brownells but I believe its similar.

(all this assuming its an outside the action wrench and not an internal wrench)

I made my own that may or may not work. I welded a 1/2" piece of round stock perpendicular to a 3/4" piece of square steel. I then cut another piece of 3/4" bar stock the same length and drilled bolt holes through each of them to "sandwich" the action with through bolts.

I bought a Mech Force barrel vise to go with it and was easily able to remove a (non factory) barrel from my Tikka.
