In October I had the pleasure of taking my 23 year old son on an antelope hunt in Texas. We had a great time and, as you can see, took some nice bucks from a friends ranch in the panhandle area.
Fast forward to December. I took this nine point Monday evening on my cousin's property in Alabama near Auburn. Anyone who hunts Alabama knows this is a great Alabama buck. It weighed in at 220 live weight. He was facing me and the shot had to go in the brisket, right between the shoulders. It was 100+ yards and late afternoon. The 7mm08 did it's job perfectly, taking out his heart.
The other picture is my friend's 19 year old. I took him and his dad out the next morning. It was his first ever deer hunt. To make it even more special, he killed the deer with a 7MM Mauser that his grand dad had built several years ago.
