How about using small pistol magnum cci550 as a substitute for small rifle? Iv heard it will work in a bolt gun but never tried it
I would not use pistol primers in lieu of rifle primers, especially in 223 or similar high pressure rounds.
Understand that this is for one sampling of CCI primers. To the best of my knowledge, there is no standard for primers beyond the SAAMI dimensional standard. All other requirements would typically cascade down from loaded ammunition performance requirements. The exception being military standards for sensitivity. Its possible that manufacturers may ship different primers, say magnum for regular at any given time.

I believe that primers are labeled for a reason... while you may get away with substitution...
