So I recently got rid of my 22-250 and I had some loaded rounds left over. I am pulling the bullets now and I am wondering what to do with the primers. Any ideas?
You can deactivate them with oil, then remove, and discard them. I have popped them out live, using my press and decapping pin, and reused them in fireforming loads, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
I'd throw them away, they're cheap and it's not worth gooning up a load trying to re-use them. Also, oil won't deactivate a primer like a previous poster said. It might work every now and then, but don't count on it.
If you're careful and don't break the primer cake they could be reused but they will be a little loose in the pocket. IMO primers are cheap and not worth the potential aggravation.
