I put together a 308 using mega's new mono set and used a brownells 16" barrel with cmmg bcg and everything checked out ok with my headspace gauges. I had some 168 hornady match ammo left over from my bolt gun and planned on using it for sight in, but after loading a mag and dropping the bcg I could not get it into battery, I then tried some 175 fgmm and they chambered fine. I measured the fgmm at the shoulder and the hornady and came to the conclusion that the latter was almost .004" longer. I'm just curious because I'm wanting to get stocked up on some bulk .308 but don't want to order 1,000 rounds and not be able to shoot it in my rifle. Is the hornady just unusually longer or what? Anybody else ever have this problem and found other factory loads to be fine and if so what brand? Thanks

What was the actual measurement to the shoulder?
