its been that for a at least a month now, still dont think its worth it.
too heavy to excell at being a red dot
red dot thats not really day rated
poor battery life
not enough magnification to shoot out to 1000 for my taste,
jack of all trades master of none. if i am going to drop over 2000 on optics for 1 rifle, i would go micro aimpont or eotech in a QD mount, and a SS or NF for long range stuff
with a aimpoint micro you can actually use an LMT MWS as a carbine, in the same token with a higher mag scope you can actully strech its legs.
the cqbss is sexy but just would rather have two use specific optics

Wow...it's been a month...Spent the last month in Ft Pickett and AP Hill.... O well...
For the price, I think it's not bad. I have a S&B 1-8x for test, so I will check them both out. I figure if I don't like it/think the S&B is better, i can sell the Leupold with the H 27

in understanding the complications of making a true 1 to 6 or 8 power scope, i fully aknowledge that the CQBSS is an impressive scope in many regards. i just cant buy into the concept of a heavy low power scope.
my mws with an aimpoint micro(4oz) and loaded mag feels incredible,
my mws with an NF 2.5-10x24mm(14oz) feels solid and a little heavy
my mws with an NF 8-32x56mm (32oz) feels retarded
a CQBSS at 24oz's would make a great rifle feel rediculous

Gunner10, the only flaw I see in your weight comparison is that the 32oz NF is not only a full half pound heavier than the CQBSS but it's also much much longer. The CQBSS will put it's weight much closer to the user, not hung way out front like a long NF scope, so even if they were the same weight the CQBSS would be more manageable.
I hope to have a CQBSS H27 in my hands soon and will post my results and feelings for all.

true, just saying a 14oz is getting heavy for practical use, for me. a 24oz scope pretty much gets it into the rediculous threshold, for me.
its going to be a cqb pig, and spotting impacts long range is going to be difficult.
do i mind a 24-30+oz scope? no, for laying in the prone shooting from ridge line to ridge line.
an mws with a micro can be pretty quick
an mws with a LR scope can make impressive hits long range
an MWS with CQBSS is slow, lacks high end mag to really take advantage of the cartridge.
just my personel thoughts
