My experience with auto loading rifles is with the M1 and M14. Those only use 4895 and other medium burn rate area. Is there a similar burn rate "rule" like those two rifles? All the powders I've tried are medium burn rate and not happy with the results. Today I tried Varget and had one .589 group so that's more like it but I've got a Savage 12 in 6.5 CM, that does well with any powder but really likes H4350, 4451, Big Game etc. I'd like to use these in the AR 10 if it won't be hard on the equipment. Thanks

I have used 4451 in my CA -10 6.5 creedmoor. I also have used- 760, hybrid100, 4166 & r-16.
The 4166 I used in 100 grainers. All the others were for 120gr or more.
After using r-16 I’m not sure if I would get any other powder for both my ar and bolt 6.5’s.
For my ar/CA I haven’t went above 140 grn bullets.
