what's the proper way to put a cleaning patch on a jag ? for any reason mine keep coming loose. thanks.

The patches should fall off those jags after it's passed all they way through the muzzle. It's best that you are always pushing the bad stuff out of the barrel from the chamber toward the muzzle. With those jags you spear the patch in the center, run it through and when you pull the rod back through, the patch comes off when it hits the muzzle. Wipe the rod off, stick a new patch and your ready for the next pass.
