Back in the Rifle's Only days, were there "classes"/"categories" such as heavy and light, etc?

@lowlight @Terry Cross can give you better recount.

But basically, .308 field rifles (lots of movement) until the .260’s showed up. Here’s a pic I’ve always liked:

No, it was all open, everyone was equal, but also a big match was 75 people.

There was a match, I forget which RO it was, all AI Rifles on the line, but maybe 2,

308s ruled the roost, then Terry was shooting a 260AI, then 260, then 243 showed up, finally 6.5 and beyond

Most were field guys, if you crept over 18LBS you were mocked because we moved so much,

The Mouse Trap at RO showed the year I left, but we moved a lot more

One event, the Handgun Drag,

Start at 100, fire at shot on paper, 1" dot probably, then sling rifle, pick up 80LBS bag of cow chips, drag it with one hand while shooting 45% IPSC plates every 10 yards to 20, drop the bag, run up the Back 100 yard berm at RO (25ft maybe more) then shoot a target behind the berm,

If you weren't shooting an AI you shot a Custom something usually on a A5 stock

The first time a 6.5CM hit the range too

This image, I think was the first time I shot the GAP 10 Rifle, telling George I was shooting 1/4 MOA with it. I remember Tony Burkes was shooting next to me, and I kept stacking a round on top of his, so he was shooting and immediately I would shoot his target laughing

Those photos bring back memories of the old AAR from different matches, RO, BL, Monmouth etc. Very cool send some more.

Have been enjoying podcast binging during the grind of commuting. Heard the one with Jacob as they were talking of RO training and matches, those type pics came to mind. Keep up the great podcasts.
