Guys, I ran into an issue with my Bix n andy trigger. My specific model is the rem 700 single stage with no safety.

Background info: Rifle is a SAC built, 308 win. has a total of 305 rounds down the pipe. Sent it to a local smith who is spinning up my 260 barrel so I can switch them at home. He reported to me that the sear is not engaging properly and would slam home when riding the bolt forward.

He sent the trigger into bullet central and this is what their initial thoughts were:
Because I had mine set at the max/near max limit of 1.25 pounds, trigger may need a second spring along with the first to work properly. Their tech is currently diagnosing to make sure their initial thoughts are correct.

Up until the point I sent my rifle in to my local smith, I had no issues with it. I did all kinds of tests to ensure the trigger is ready for the field (drop test, slam test, bolt riding forward hard, functions test with trigger, etc). Everything just short of sprinting down the asphalt with it and purposely falling on it.

Anyhow, just figured I'd share with you guys. This is the first im hearing of potential issues if you're setting the trigger to have the heaviest pull weight possible (1.25#) with their spring.

Will report back once I hear from bullet central.

I played with those a bit at SHOT. Seemed like a really nice unit. I'm sure they'll get it worked out.

I thought they had a wider range of pull weights. Is it simply your model that maxes out at 1.25, or it was spec'd by you to be that way? I seem to recall the top was around 3-4 lbs. I could be mistaken.

It's usually the opposite with people setting these as light as possible. I had one fitted to a Tikka which came with 3 different springs. The lightest was installed by default with a medium and heavy spring able to be swapped out. Did you have the heavy spring installed?
