Is there any love for psl's here? well i guess thats a no.

Anyhow i just converted my gas block to an adjustable one to be able to shoot the heavier ammo a was hopeing that there were some fellow psl shooters here to see what they had to say about thier psl luck.

Re: psl owners? gas block mod

Yeah there isn't much PSL action here. I bought two CAI Romanian Imports - back when they were about $530 for a rifle, optic, and mags.

Both shoot around 2.5 MOA with Russian surplus light ball. They're cheap, effective, and fun to shoot. I will eventually send them off to Rifle Dyanamics for the GSR mod and put a different COMBLOC optic on them, but in their stock form they still work well.

I'm sure you have, but if not check "akfiles" and the "theakforum" as both have groups for the PSL/SVD type rifles.

i got that feeling that they were not the favorite here, I just thought some may be interested in my results with the gas block mod, really seems to help them out. never heard of rifle dynamics though, i'll have to check it out thanks.

Re: psl owners? gas block mod

modifying the gas block won't change the rifling twist, it will not stabilize any bullets over 150 gr, I tried it at 950 yds with 180's, and went from 20" groups with czech silvertip to over 10 feet with heavy ball not accounting for carrier slamming the rear trunion and peening it a bit.
good luck, PSL's are great rifles to practice with cheaply when fed proper ammo.
Hope this helps.
