Thinking about picking one up for scanning and ranging, is there another option that’s worth looking at it are these the way to go ?

From what I have seen, they are the only feasible option unless you spring for the Vector units with built in NVG, but that's not thermal and it's also wildly expensive.

I bought a pair about a year ago, except mine are the 38s and I love them. The range finder works good also. No regrets.
