Hello,

I was eying up throwing a PVA Tikka prefit on a Tikka T3x Tac A1 but was wondering if the Tikka barrel nut would fit under the enclosed foreend on the Tac A1. It looks pretty tight under the handguard. So I guess the question is will the PVA Tikkka Barrel nut (either hunting or heavy contour nut) work with the Tac A1. I was looking at a med palma or a Marksman barrel.

Not sure why you wouldn't just call them.

I asked the same question and was told the mounting flange on the chassis needs to be modified. They can do it and it's very easy. They just need that one piece sent in, not the entire chassis.

I've been wondering about this myself so I spoke to Josh at Patriot Valley Arms. He said he has to modify the flange on the chassis that the hand guard bolts to. He said it's a straight forward modification and he just needs the one part, not the entire chassis to be sent in.

He also sells Tikka prefit barrels with barrel nuts and does great work.

Here’s the statement regarding this.

@Random_Scrub and @redneckbmxer24 are correct.

The barrel nut has a nearly slip fit on the flange. In use the flange sometimes contacts the barrel nut so if we have the flange we can open it up about 20 thousandths and there is no more issue. Since someone would be buying our barrel and barrel nut we do not charge for the modification so long as the customer sends in the part.
