Impressed. Comparing my WP with my Class 2 friend's Green, as we stood outside in light rain, it seemed the WP was slightly better in seeing in shadows along a line of hedges.

Taking mine out on the darkest of areas, here is a picture I took with no visible moon or stars. I hsd the gain under one-half its range. This is really impressive, and I have had many PVS-14s.

I wanted to share this picture.

Looks nice...was there any urban lighting around at all or was it black as coal out there?

It is pitch black, no city lights.

I could have turned the gain up and should have a little.

This is an area I call the abandoned golf course because years ago that was the intention that did not come to pass. this is what you see toward the left. To the left there are trees behind it for miles , eventually coming to the Arkanasa River where I saw cougar tracks which a game warden identified from my photograph.

On the right are trees and a cemetary.

I have traveled in four wheel drive on trails here in my Jeep CJ7 1979 and used night vision and thermal. It is 5 minutes from out home.

That’s awesome - I want one when my aging pvs14 plays out. Is the wp easier on the eyes than green tube units? (ie less eye fatigue during extended use, more rapid dark adaptation when coming off the unit, etc)

Just my opinion but yes the WP seems to be easier on eye strain. Also I tried an amber filter on it and it turned a light lavender purple and imo also helped with strain.

It really has good contrast to me, as I mentioned above, in seeing into the shadows, better without having to use an Illuminator as much. This is the first WP I have had but yes, it seems brighter to me and less fatigue as you all note above. Those who have technical knowledge can share but subjectively that is what it seems. I have had many PVS14s I’ve used 20 years and was surprised at the quality of the WP.

Lol definitely not made of money, but another PVS14 is somewhere down on the list. When I get there sounds like wp will be the way to go....appreciate the info folks.
