What exactly is it with the ML2 that makes it not compatible with nightvision vs the M2? I have a ML2 and you cant even see the red dot on the first 3 settings. Is it completely frowned upon to use a pvs-14 with an ML2? I am looking to purchase a PVS-14 and am wondering if I am going to need to swap my ML2 for an M2.

The 1st setting should be OK for use with a PVS-14.
A good safety check is to keep your gain way down on the PVS and slowly turn it up to view the dot intensity. If it starts to bloom, you know it's too bright and should not be used. Hope this helps.

From my understanding diode and lens coating which make them compatible with NV.
