Is there a better option for a front mount nv?

I think so, but it depends on what you want to do. CNVD-LR is a great unit, one of my favorites. If you want one that performs next to a PVS-22, but for half the price, take a look at the armasight co-x and co-mr.

There are a lot of variables that would play into what would make something better for you, but not for someone else. Does budget matter? What distances do you want to achieve? What kind of rifle and optic do you plan on using it with? Etc, etc..

I was on the fence with the purchase of a front clip on between a CNVD-LR, PVS-22 and PVS-27. They're different price points (and intended uses), but it's tough to swallow spending a minimum of $8,000 on a device I use infrequently. I ended up buying a 30 SNR Pinnacle-tubed CO-LR from Delta 4-3, and have never looked back. My unit was half the price of most of the ones I've listed, and it truly has to be seen to be believed. When I say that the CO-LR is one of the best values in clip-on night vision, I truly mean it!

I had a pvs22 , and sold it for the cnvd LR. The LR is a better unit all the way around

My only worry about the CNVD-LR is the plastic housing. I know the PVS-22 is mostly the same. I went with the KAC UNS LRLP. It's heavy but built like a tank.
