Night Vision PVS14 Blem or Dust?

So the pvs14 i posted about the other day now has a black spec almost right in the center. It was a friends and it was flawless. He let me take it home for the night and try it out and everything was perfectly fine. Paid him the next day and that night I messed with it some more, perfectly fine. Put it up in a Pelican case and take it out today to test out an ir laser I bought and boom black spec right in the middle of the lens. What would cause that if it wasn't touched?

Ok my buddy i got it from is gonna look it at he knows how to take them apart and clean them thankfully

Awesome I was beating myself up like I did something wrong even though I didn't touch them since they were good lol

Same thing happened to me with a second hand PVS-14. Perfectly clean tube from the seller, then full of specks after I adjusted the focus ring a few times. Carefullly disassembled and gently brushed off the IIT with a lens pen, good as new.
