Hi folks,

I own a OA15 M5, it is a M4 type AR with a German-legal 16 1/2 inch barrel. It comes with a milspec frontsightpost.

I intend to mount a Fero Z24 from Hensoldt.

Is the Arms Mount #5 or #63 high enough, so that the frontsight does not interfere with the reticle?

Maybe somebody over here used this setup.

For your Information, this rifle:

That mount:

The Fero Z24:

Here you can actually see the scope with the mount.

Buying a flip up frontsight is no option, too expensive with the necessary free float handguard.

Tank you

BTW, the rifle is great!!!!

It seems nobody uses this setup.

Every comment about my intended setup is welcome.

Does anybody use a low magnification scope with the fixed frontsightpost like I am going to mount?

How high over the flattop did you mount your scope?

Cowitness is not intended, I think it works best for sights without magnification.

I'm going to guess that mount won't get you high enough. Normal AR optic height is apprx 2.5" (64 mm) - center of optic above the flattop rail on an A/R; or the center of the eye piece about even with the fixed rear sight on a carry handle. The front sight will "ghost" (appear as a shadow in the lower field of view) at 4x, so even slightly below this will still work.

Hi again,

finally I got my FERO Z24, mint condition.

The frontsight post is no problem in the FOV.

The decision between the ARMS #5 and #63 is now the issue.

#5 costs 70€
#63 costs 160€

Are the QD levers of the #63 worth the high cost, or will the #5 be under 1 MOA repeatable?

Thanks
