This piece is completely restored meaning every nut, bolt, and screw was taken apart cleaned, sandblasted and repaired perfetly. There currently are four gas guns on it. The star on front has Oliver North's signature. Made by Kimberly Clark in 1943. Comes with a boatload of spare parts. Painted with WWII 34087 early kaki olive drab green.

Re: Quad 50: Wish I had the funds

If I had the 35k I would still need about 100k for ammo. Looks like an awesome hog gun though.

It doesn't matter if the cone is setup for Ground or Aircraft, major blast to shoot,... with mixed 200rd cans of every color, way mo better yet.

Sawing them correctly, is an art.

35K, won't buy it with guns though, let alone ammo for 2 minutes

Re: Quad 50: Wish I had the funds

Frank should start fund and every member here can contribute $5 or so and we can all play with this thig down at Rifles Only. We can put a FAT GIRL at one end of the course, and Shankster at the other, telling him when he reaches her he can have his way....Big IF. The ammo would be prohibitive though ...at $2.00 a round one minute would cost $2x2000/rd=$4000/minute. Ouch.

Re: Quad 50: Wish I had the funds

I saw Quad 50s on some of the big LZs in RVN in 69. They were mounted up in the back of duece and a halfs.
As a grunt in the perimeter bunkers it was great to know they were around if needed. I think some of them had big red lights and spot lights too kind of like what were on the M-60 tanks of the 11th. ACR.
What impressed me more was the Dusters.
They were track mounted 40mm twin barrel anti-aircraft guns from WW-2. Those things could definatly put a hurt on someone or something in the wire and/or beyond it.
The bad thing about them was if they worked out in front of your area on the perimeter was the rounds blew the wire all to hell and a RPG hit turned them to smoke.
None the less, we were always happy to have them around and they ruined Chuck's plans for him on a regular basis.
We were more than happy to go on police call and string new wire when they were done. Regards, FM

Re: Quad 50: Wish I had the funds

M35's an 35A-1's were fitted as well an called, Gun Trucks. Some still had the Ring mount 50's in place over the shotgun seat. Gave a whole new meaning to the word mobile firepower. The locks were in place so the quad gunner could not shoot the ring mount guy but the blast was about as bad as getting shot.
