Rifle Scopes Question About Aimpoint

Re: Question About Aimpoint

I want to put an Aimpoint on top of my AR10 that I'm trying to lighten up enough to carry around.

My concern with the CompM4 is that the tube isn't elevated enough above the flat top to be comfortable. Of course, this may not be a very valid concern, but it sure seems a lot lower profile than a CompM2 in a LaRue mount.

Re: Question About Aimpoint

Yeah, it just feels really natural to line up behind that cantalevered LaRue.

The 4MOA dot is just really big for a 200 yard shot with a 308. My math says that it covers a circle that is 8 inches in diameter.

Re: Question About Aimpoint

ML3 with a 2moa is only $50 more than the M2 and mine has been great to me. I have a M3 as well and unless you have a use for NV, I think you would be really happy with the ML3

Re: Question About Aimpoint

Be sure to take a look at LaRue they have all the different mounts for different heights. Good prices too. Actually the hottest Aimpoint right now is the T-1. It comes highly recommended.

I thought the T1 was 4moa as well. If a 2moa model was out I'd be in line to buy it...

Re: Question About Aimpoint

The m4 is at exactly the same height as the m2, m3, and t1 in a larue mount. The larue mount for the m4 does not change the over bore height.

Red dots are capable of less moa sized dots if you turn them down in brightness. They are capable of larger moa sized dots if you turn the brightness up.

I've got a sweet hookup for Aim Points if anyone needs one.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with an Aimpoint of some sort. I've looked at the newest Vortex product, the ACOGs, and other lighter options. Aimpoint seems to be regarded as a superior product - although there are certainly strengths with other light weight black gun scopes that Aimpoints don't offer.

Care to share your sweet hook up? Send me a PM if you'd rather.

I'm lightening the AR up to carry at night to spotlight hogs. I'm not sure how much set up time I'll have. My fundamentals go to pot in the moment, and I'm left with only muscle memory.

Thanks for the tip on the M4. It's just so dang expensive, and I'm not sure it's worth it. Is the glass that much better?

Re: Question About Aimpoint

The M4s is a 2 moa dot sight. The glass is not super clear like a high end scope. It is excellent at quick shots under stress. Just put the dot on the target and pull the trigger. " Is it worth it". If you want to make quick shots from say 0 to 100 yards yes it is.However, remember it is not a rifle scope, it is only a dot sight. I bought mine from Hide member EasyRhino72, send him a pm about priceing.
