Would it be a bad idea to use a cordless drill connected to a poly brush and rod to clean the inside of a bore? And if it is a bad idea, what damage could occur from it?

One question, WHY?

You want the brush to travel with the lands and grooves, not against them.

Just get Wipe out Patch out and the acclerant. The foam works great as well. I JB the bore with a nylon brush every 150 shots or so. I let the WO PO set in the barrel over night and there wont be much if any copper left in the morning.

Try it w/ valve grinding compound!

Are you serious?

I knew a guy that did that with his IPSC racegun (pistol)....... made me cringe everytime. I can't even imagine doing something like that to a precision rifle barrel. Seems like the "rotorooter" approach to barrel maintenance.

KG12 seems to be the best for copper, but whats the best for carbon fouling?
