Rifle Scopes Question about mounting a HDMR

What is the most amount of cant that you can mount a Bushnell DMR with before you run out of room.

Can I use a 40 MOA mount with a flat and level base without running out of reticle travel?

With a 30 moa base I had almost 10 mils left on the bottom with a 100Y zero.

Bushnell Elite 6 X 24 G2 Mil Mil. I am using a 700 tactical 308 and I had a 20 moa base. Ended up with 10 mils on top and 10 mils on the bottom with a 100yd zero. Ordered a 40 moa base and should end up with 4.7 mil on the bottom and 15.3 on the top. The outside dimensions of the action seem to very a lot.

This is relevant to my needs. Just ordered an HDMR from Scott yesterday, and was debating on the mount.

I wanted to be able to switch it from my 700 with 20moa base, and my MWS. Was worried about bottoming out the elevation myself on the 700.

Think I might go with an AI 18moa mount....

I have a DMR with G2DMR reticle on an FNAR (flat rail) and with a 28 MOA AI mount I have almost 9 mils down left after zeroing @ 100 yards.

"Only" left me 25 mils elevation to dial out.

Also, very little shrouding @ 100 yards since I'm nowhere near the lower limit of the erector travel.

The 28 MOA works out nice with a flat base IMHO.
