Rifle Scopes Question about scope base and my IOR..

I just put a IOR ffp 3-18x42 scope on my rifle. I knew about the eye relief/mounting issues before hand, I tried both rings in the front of the turret housing, but didn't like it. The eye relief problem was fixed, but it didn't look right from both a function an appealing standpoint.

My base is from what I remember a 30 MOA badger, but to be honest I don't know what it is. I know it is canted not sure how much, my question is are there other bases out there that have another slot or two further back than this one? Because if I could go back two slot then the eye relief issue would be fine. If not I wonder if it would be possible to have this base machined to work? It has almost 3/4 of an inch with no slots so that would leave room for two more.



Im just trying to figure out how to make this work, I think I am going to like the scope if I can get this issue resolved.

You could machine it to work, but you'd have to finish it some how too. The set-up might not be trivial if you try to match the taper.

I guess you could just put a level on it and shim the top to be level, then measure and make the cuts. 20 minutes tops for set-up and slotting. If you can't do it or find someone local PM me and maybe I can help.

Just buy a EGW extended base, they made them just for the IOR scopes with short eye releif.

Thanks again, just ordered one!! Price is right too, hate being in a hurry though payed $30 to have it here by Friday. Not gonna let $30 stand in the way of being able to shoot this weekend though!!
