Range Report Question for the Hornady shooters

My good friend is looking to break into LR shooting, and I'm taking him out tomorrow and letting him sling some lead with my .308. He bought a couple boxes of Hornady 168gr HPBT Match ammo, and was wondering if anybody has chronoed this stuff in their .308 so that I can get some guestimate of velocity.

I have a 10FP with 22" 10 twist barrel. All I shoot is 180gr hand loads so I have no idea. I'm guessing around 2700fps????

think around 26-2650 ish

2650 will get you really close! We have shot it out of a 24" and are just over 2650!

My buddy shoots a 20" savage and is just under 2650!

Out of my 20" Broughton it's at about 2655fps. Using 2650fps should be real close.

He just bought 2 boxes and I'd like to conserve as much ammo as possible to get him more on target trigger time..

Get him on up to HR with the data you've got, and I'll help out with a couple of boxes.

Actually Allan, we're trying to find him a rifle now. He's just playing with mine while I'm in town visiting family (old HS buddy from hometown).

He want's to shoot HR with me this season, he's pretty amped up about it... Wants to have his own rifle by HR, but if he doesn't, he can use mine...
