Rifle Scopes Question on Bases

I'm building a custom on a 700 action with a heavy fluted barrel. I'm mounting a zeiss conquest 6.5-20x50 on it using talley rings, but I'm not sure which talley bases to use. Will I need the extended bases or will the standard base provide enough adjustment to get the right eye-relief?
