Suppressors question on milling glock slide for RMR

I was looking around at everyone offering this service and the price was not cheap.

I was wondering if anyone has done this themselves with the factory slide? Im going to be doing it on a glock 17 slide. From the looks of it people are basically milling it to the depth where the flat mill cut would meet a 90 degree shoulder with the side of the slide.

Im planning on doing it in maybe 1/8" in front of the factory rear dovetail to allow use of suppressor sights for BUIS.

Any tips from people that have done this themselves?

It looks fairly simple if you want to do a straight cut on the front and rear of the slide top. Some people have done radius cuts for the front to match the convex shape of the RMR but i feel this is too much work haha.

Anyway let me know, thanks.

Re: question on milling glock slide for RMR

Called Lone wolf and they say that they dont mill OEM slides because they are afraid the slide will 'detonate' I think was the word he used over the phone.

Looking at the technical data for CM steel im just not sure how feasible that is. My only thought is it was with people that installed them dangerously close to the breach face. But again im not sure.

Anyway im going to be doing it with my 17 slide and making the cut in front of the rear dovetail like one source tac offers. I'll post some pics when it is done.
