i remember a few years ago a guy named todd baily (all the hk fan boy people know him or know of him) was going to put out hk ump receivers for the hk ump/usc thing all you had to do is switch your usc parts over to the receiver, take all the "bad" parts out of an ump lower and you where tgt once all the sbr paper work came back.
for some reason he didnt go threw with it out side of a prototype receiver ( or two ) every one see the pix in a shotgun news and floating around on the websight.
my question is, how can he do that ? i mean i know every one and their mother have been copying mp5's and g3's but look how old they are, how could you make a direct copy ( minus no cavity for an auto sear to go up into ) of an hk ump and not be sued big time ?
i mean if its easy then heck why doesnt some one make molds for ump's g36 hk xm8 and all kinds of other stuff and get them in the hands of civilians ( semi autos of course )
i am not much for the 223 caliber but if i could buy a semi auto sbr version of a g36c for around 800 -1500 bucks i wouldnt be able to get the cash out of my pocket quick enough
