I just picked-up a used NightForce 2.5-10x32 NXS. Does anyone know what the parallax is set at? Since the parallax is not adjustable on this model, I notice that images start to get fuzzy around 500-yards, and blurry at 800-yards and beyond. Is this normal for this scope?

Re: Question regarding NF 2.5-10x32 NXS

Parallax on this model is set to 100 yards, and what you experienced is typical.

When I was consistently engaging 500+ during a course, blur was so unbearable I opted to use the ocular focus to see my target, sacrificing reticle focus in the process.

In my opinion, design strengths on the 2.5-10x are compactness, eye-relief/sight picture forgiveness, and smaller sight picture which all optimize rapid target acquisition at sub-500 ranges -- as you discovered.

I've sinced moved it to a dedicated field rifle; if I didn't have this rifle, it would have sold long ago.

Thanks Hamstur, I have mine mounted on my LMT carbine and realisticly won't be engaging targets beyond 500-yards even though the rifle is capable of moa with match grade ammo.

The Nightforce replaced an ACOG 3x30 and its intended use is multi-gun courses.
