Is using a 308 suppressor going to be louder than using a dedicated 5.56 suppressor on a 5.56 AR15?

I found the first round pop to be a touch louder but the following shots to be quieter with my 7.62 surefire can vs. a 223 YHM can

What Adam said.. w/hearing protection on I've not been able to hear much of a difference as a gased stoner isnt that quiet to begin with.
