I'm kicking around the idea of re-barreling a Tikka T3 lite stainless in 243 and wondering what expenses and issues I will have to resolve.
Can I re-barrel it to a 260 Remington? Since its based off the 308 cartridge I should be able to use the same bolt.
Maximum COAL to fit into the SA Tikka mag is 2.825, any idea if I they will fit?
Any numbers on what it would cost to have the rifle re-barreled with ~24" 1:8?

Need to look into this more, but are there any concerns with resizing 243 brass to 260?

Thanks guys.

2.825 is gonna be a problem. You'll definitely have to have some bullet jump and less than optimal seating depth for most of the popular heavy bullets.
Other than that, yes you can neck up 243 brass, consider a 26"barrel but 24 will work. Expect to pay about 250-400 for a barrel blank and about $300 for a Smith to chamber, thread, and barrel it.

So another words I would have to go with CDI bottom metal and AICS mags so I could seat the bullets closer to the lands.

A different bottom metal and magazine arrangement will buy you some more COAL... 2.850" from AICS mags and 2.950" if you modify them. Remingtons require some grinding/modification to get the action itself to receive cartriges longer than ~2.900". I have NO idea about Tikka, but something to consider.

All that said, don't think that 2.825" max is a dealbreaker. My DPMS LR308 in 260 is mag limited to 2.805" and it works just fine, jumping the bullets about 3/4 mile.

I have a 10FP LE2 in 308 I could rebarrel but it doesn't have a detachable magazine.
To set it up how i want to, it would mean more $$$.
