Posted wrong place, start again Need advise from you fellows, I am setting up a 30 06 rifle that has good fixed sights, I also have a new Nightforce scope i want to mount on it.
I posted earlier in reference to quick detach rings and was told from one poster he never had quick detach that returned to zero.
Now I am nervous.
this is for a CZ bolt gun with the 19mm dovetail cut in.
Anyone have info/experience with quick detach rings that can give me some input on the different brands out there?

Re: Quick detach rings info

I answered in your other post, I'll delete that one since more may see it here and get some benefit from it.

I can't speak for anyone else but I used the Leupold QRW on our two long range pistols that had VGM mounts on them for the local 1000 yard matches when we were still using pistol scopes. To adjust the mounts you had to remove the scope and use a dial indicator to set the pin positions. I never had any problem with putting the scope back on and being right on target even at 1000 yards after making a slight adjustment in a mount height pin position. I was careful to have the rings set so when I remounted the scope and slid it rearward before tightening the ring mount lever they both seated against the rear of the mount slot. The guys we shoot with just could not believe it would return so precisely and it'd drive them nuts to see us do it and be right on target.

Don't know what other problems others might of had but all I can say is that on both our XP-100 they worked great. I have a set now on a Freedom Arms 44 mag revolver with the VGM mount for long range experimenting out to 500 yards and they are working the same by returning correctly when reinstalled. Another set is on a 541T 22lr with another VGM mount for upcoming 400 yard steel plate matches and it also will return perfectly when taking the scope off for an adjustment to the mount. I've never tried another brand but I really like the Leupold QRW rings for that purpose.

They wouldn't be my choice if your scope was going to stay on that gun. If they are able to return the scope to the same position with that precision they should work for what you're needing.
