Got a 6.5 creedmoor coming in and this is my first venture away from the .308 realm. I am also a savage and Rem-age guy (no throwing rocks :) cause I understand that barrels are like tires and get worn out, but in like changing my own.

Now I have a set of go no-go gauges for 308, I know that these can be used for others in the 308 family like .243 and 260 remington, since the 6.5 creedmoor is in the same family can I use these gauges or do I have to get specific 6.5 cm gauges? I have googled and searched but my google-fu seems to be failing me at the moment..... :)

You'll need cm-specific gauges. The shoulder is at a different distance from the bolt face. Headspace is from the bolt face to a datum line on the shoulder (with rimless, bottlenecked cases). Change where the shoulder is, or angle of the shoulder, and you'll change the headspace.

You could do 6CM and 6.5CM with the same gauges, though.
