Hey there guys,

I have a real quick question to ask that maybe someone with a CTR can answer.

Im looking for a 24in CTR 6.5 Tikka. I called around local stores, there's one 45 mins away from me. I asked if it had the 24 inch barrel, the guy said it's 21.5 inches.

Is that right? Does the 24in barrel model only portrude 21.5 inches from the action face? Or is that a 20in barrel CTR?

Ive had some rifles that have about an inch or so inside of the action, but 2.5 inches? Does anyone have a more reliable measurement I can use to determine if this is a 20 or 24?

Im only asking ebcause I dknt want to drive 45 minutes only to find that its not the right barrel length.

Could be a few things. My guess is you’re dealing with a mouth breather and he’s referring to the very common 20” CTR, but it might have a brake on it. That, or he’s measured thread tip to thread tip.

Barrel length is typically measured from closed boltface to muzzle.

to answer your question:
22.5” from action face to muzzle.

20” tikka is 19” from action face to muzzle.
