Nice, I've actually got a question as well. Can you run the numbers on this:
280AI 24" Bartlein 1-8" twist 5R Barrel
Peterson brass
59.3 gr RL26
Berger 180VLD Hunting
Fed 210M
3.467" COAL
I'm seeing 2860fps with no signs of pressure whatsoever. Numbers are very consistent and the accuracy is superb. I'm a bit worried with the velocity I'm seeing that it might be hiding some pressure. Thanks a bunch!

It looks like you're in the ballpark and shouldn't see pressure at all, though velocity doesn't exactly match your numbers, so there are a number of parameters in QL that could be tweaked to match.

Here's what it's predicting with a charge weight ladder...

Outstanding, thank you very much! I need to get Quickload, but I've only got a MacBook unfortunately. Too many hoops to jump through to run it on there. Wish they sold it in an app for a phone.

I wonder if the elevation I'm shooting at could have something to do with that? I'm shooting at about 3000 feet elevation.

That elevation will not change your muzzle velocity, but it WILL change your bullet trajectory.

The thing with QL is that it's very good at simulating interior ballistics, but there are SO many variables that need to be tuned to make it accurate for a given load. The default values for powders are generally good, but there's no guarantee that if you plug them in they'll be 100% correct for 100% of loads.

Yeah, its crazy what factors will have a sometimes staggering affect on the ballistics of a round. I was not expecting a MV of 2860 with that 180 but my magnetospeed V3 has never been off before and it read consistently over numerous test shots with that load. I'll take it though. Thats moving for a non magnum round sending a 180 pill.

Your chronograph and brass are the "ground truth" in this situation, so trust them before QL. So with your situation in general I think you're good to go - don't change anything.

Yeah I am happy with the performance of it for sure. I like the Peterson brass a lot. We'll see how the load performs during spring bear season. I'm hoping to get a chance to test it out!
