R700 value?

I have a Rem 700 VS 22-250, 26" matte blue barrel, HS black, grey web stock, with a VariX III 6.5-20 scope. Rifle has 200rds through it, comes with 250 cases+100 loaded rounds. Was offered to me for $1000, and I'm gonna take it out for a test drive this week Price sound fair?

I have that same rifle in 308. Brand new in 2002 I paid $760 for the gun alone. You're getting the rifle, Leupold glass, and rings/base, and ammo for a grand? I'd say go for it. By the way.....my rifle is a straight shooter. No complaints.

I have the same rifle in stainless and same scope. That's a great price. I paid more than that 12 years ago. Mine shoots like a champ. If you have the opportunity, shoot it before buying it. If it doesn't shoot inside MOA ask the seller if he ever pulled the stock of. If so, ask him if he torqued it down to speck. If he didn't it will throw it off a little.

Thanks for your replies, gonna test it tonight at 200-300yrds. May get lucky and see a coyote to test er on!

This things a shooter! After checking where it shoots on my 100, 200, 300yrd gongs, an unlucky woodchuck at 125, and Doe at 325yrds were taken pretty easily. One flat shooter, as it was an inch high at 100, 2" high at 200, 3" low at 335. Gotta find the funds now to pick this up!
