Racial injustice is real, but the victims are not who the media tells you.

"Police were called to the scene around 5:30 pm on September 20 last year after dozens of witnesses saw the unprovoked assault culminate in the death of the Mount Airy resident."

And nobody did a fucking thing.

To be fair, it didn’t seem like anyone could have done anything after the guy came flying in and knocked him out. However, people could have stepped in and tried to have eased the situation. All over a fucking dollar. The jacked up thing is, if this dude had been carrying and was able to get a shot off and killed his attacked he’d have been in jail for life. Just because you are a juvenile doesn’t mean you get away with murder. This judge is way out of line. I don’t see how you could sleep at night letting this dude off on such a thing. And given the fact they wouldn’t let previous info on this guy be heard in public or in this case tells me all I need to know about his history. You aren’t going to rehabilitate this asshat.

Do you think he was afraid to properly sentence the punk for fear of fallout from the whole BLM movement?

Probably.

Hard to watch the video and think anger management will fix anything.

It wont. This guy will likely kill someone else or have a life or criminality.

Can you all stop repeating this stupid shit as if it were a certainty?

Concealed carry has been the law in Ohio for 16 years and I have yet to hear of anyone being sent to prison over a good shoot.

If you truly think this way, sell your fucking guns.

This occurred in Maryland right? Try getting a CC permit there. Or drive there with your Ohio one and get pulled over to find out how valid it is. If that dude had shot the kid, he'd be in prison. The fact that this was let go tells me he wasn't a cop, which is pretty much the prerequisite to get a permit there.

The problem is that it wasn't a deadly situation until it was. The victim could not have justifiably shot anyone. Like many confrontations, is unclear whether you are being physically threatened. Then, all of the sudden there is a vicious attack, at which time it is too late to do anything even if you are carrying.

I would suggest that, during that "not sure what is going on" phase, the gun-carrying would-be victim state that they are fearful of their life and warn the agressor(s). I would probably have my hand on my holstered gun at that point. If they advance after knowing that you are fearful of your life and are ready to defend it, that's about the best you can do from a legal standpoint.

I’m just pointing out the crazy ass world we live in now, case in point, this judge letting a juvenile get away with murder. I don’t believe it is an absolute that he would have been convicted If he. Had a gun and used deadly force but given his location, the times we live in, jury stacking and so on it’s a high probability. I will still carry. Of course, in this case the dude never got a chance to use it. He shouldn’t have been standing around surrounded by enemies either. And if he had had one, guaranteed they would have taken it off of him once he was knocked out. You know the old saying, rather be judged than and so on...something I follow daily...so no I don’t say that to be like it’s an absolute he would be convicted in use of deadly force but it’s a reality we live in. What is right is wrong and what’s wrong is right, in case anyone hasn’t noticed. Society is fucked up in the head and getting worse everyday so I still encourage people to carry. Until these idiots face real punishment for their actions this kind of stuff will only continue.

Precisely. I’d add that while doing the verbal warning and grabbing if he head been carrying that he should have been moving and never had let himself get surrounded to begin with. In the end his best move here would be to get out of dodge or around other people as soon as possible. Letting yourself get surrounded is a bad idea. Not everyone is Jet Li.

FYI, it's huckle bearer. Look it up
Just did. That’s a big nope...

The “sources” for the term “huckle bearer” start with the urban dictionary and go down from there in credibility...

I've fought my way out of a group of men, you dont need to shoot a teen to save your life. Don't stand there like an idiot when you're surrounded and you won't catch a punch like that. A fuckin group of teens... smdh. I'd want to die from the embarrassment of being knocked out by a 16 yr old if he didn't kill me

Edit: still ain't right what happened to the guy though, or the weak ass punishment

You would have to look far and wide for a 59 year old man I could not have stomped at 16. Buy 16 I was pinning the wrestling coaches. At 17 Mike Tyson was knocking out bad mother fuckin men.

I won't disagree with you there. I didn't notice the victims age the first time I read it, gives me less confidence in protecting yourself at that age, but this reminds me of the video of the man who got pulled from his truck and beat in Portland the other day. Don't give up, and don't let your guard down. Plus, if that had been 17 year old Mike tyson in front of me, I'd have given him the dollar

Remember when Obama said he experienced racism because when he would walk by people in cars they would lock their doors. This is why. The left is creating fear of young black men. Because they can call it racism. When in reality it is only a intelligent defensive reaction. JMHO

When there is no consequence, there is no restraint.

Huckleberry: Said in a normal voice.

Huckle Bearer: Think Cleveland Brown...

Lesson learned for everyone else: Be prepared to treat/shoot a group of youths just like you would adults that attack you...because if you don't defend yourself with just as much vigor, they will kill you. It's no different than an overseas deployment in that regard.

I'm not even going to lie or hide it. If the 59 year old man was my father, there would be several people on the side of "justice" who would need to start worrying about me.

The point isn’t that huckleberry and huckleberry bearer sound similar, especially when you take into account regional dialects. The point is that there is no reference of huckle ever being the name of the handle on a casket. Moreover, there is no evidence, except for a single chain mail story- repeated ALOT- that huckle bearer was ever a term. But, there is evidence that huckleberry was used durig the time to mean essentially “the object of one‘s desires.” And, the available evidence shows a trend of this use of huckleberry spanning across the Atlantic (and several centuries) to Great Britain.

I‘m going to go ahead and burst another bubble for you. Those folksy aphorisms, like “don’t throw out the baby with the bath water” and “doesn’t have a pot to piss in?” Well, the former does not come from the (non)fact that babies were washed last in community bath water that was so murky you could lose a submerged toddler. And, the latter does not come from the (non)fact that poor people would sell urine to the tanning industry. There was a thread about these, right here in the bear pit a while back (maybe a couple of threads). Someone cut and pasted The contents of a chain letter. Unfortunately, the contents were erroneous.

Besides, Holiday was from Georgia...

i don't think it was over a dollar.
kid wanted to get something from a white man as a token of his submission.
when the white man failed to comply, he was beaten into submission.
this is a sad metaphor or example of our current social environment.
jmho.

The problem is that it wasn't a deadly situation until it was

A lot of gun people walk around oblivious as if the gun was a magic wand.

If you don't notice a group of black youths taking interest in you, or you do and do nothing to create space/distance, you're going to get your ass kicked.

It also pays to know what "verbal judo" is and have an idea of how to use it.

Exactly. It's about domination and "respect".

Everything in the streets is about those two things. Most people don't conceptualize it because their only behavioral paradigm is that of civilized people.

One doesn't have to be an expert in criminal behavior. A basic understanding of it and acceptance that it exists is enough.

Someone here was watching family guy while I was reading this thread.
I couldn't help but to hear ol' Cleveland say it. 😁

I live 10 miles from this fairground. I have been there hundreds of times for events ranging from gun shows, bourbon and bacon festivals and local carnivals.

After this, I’ll never go back.

The next murder this 16 yo pile of shit commits is on the judge that slapped his wrist.

Is there public trans to that fair ground?

I am almost equally upset that no one jumped in to help the man.
I don't blame the bystanders. They probably had a mix of shock, fear, and hesitance in getting wrapped up in the criminal and civil issues that go along with physical confrontations. I wish I had been there to help, but that isn't within everyone's nature, training, or abilities.
