Re: Ranger day with DPMS and Mauser 308

got the DPMS to be a mid range hunting rifle out to 500 yards, the scope is a simple 3x9 Nikon BDC reticle, I found that shooting 168 grain bullets, with the scope zeroed at 100 yards I was able to hit targets out to 200 yards using the circles in the scope. I could not find any info on the scope as far as drop in inches only the simple explanation on Nikon web site which is worthless, so I put 5 inch square steel plates a 300 and 400 yards and a 3 inch rock at 200, then zeroed the scope to shoot 1 inch high at 100, after that I was hitting the targets every time with the scope using 168, apparently Nikon designed the reticle for 2800 FPS bullets, 168 grain needs to be zeroed 1 inch high and you are good.. For you Nikon BDC scoped fellers

Good shooting Fmsniper; I also have a DPMS, its a LR 308, I gave that Anmerican Eagle 168 OTM a try, I'm digging the results, at 100yds groups were very good. Almost as good as FGMM. I also gave it a run in my M1A, with good results over some of the 147 and 150gr surplus stuff I was using.

I like the AE 168gr
