Anyone have any experience using leupold's RXB-IV Digital Laser Range Finding Binoculars? Fixing to take the one I have back to academy since it wont come close to reaching out to 800 yards. I am kind of limited to academy since I am returning it. I believe they carry this model. Any thoughts on this one?

Re: range finder review

The ones I have used were nowhere near as capable as they were advertised by Leupold to be. i.e. - 1,500 yards is a pipedream with the Leupold units unless you are ranging aluminum barns, tractor-trailers, etc. Forget smaller items or anything non-reflective.

They work "okay" out to around 600-700, but past that, you are pushing the limits of the Leupold rangefinders. If 800yds is your needed ranging capability...see if Academy can get: 1) Leica; 2) Zeiss; 3) Swarovski in no particular order. All will serve your needs.

Re: range finder review

My Swarovski's ranged a cow yesterday at 994 yards. I was impressed.
The Leupold model I had to much going on. When I first got them it took 2 hours to figure out how to use them.
