Range Finder

Re: Range Finder

If you look at the Newcon quality and compare it to Vectronix, well, there is no comparison. Just search this site and others like LongRangeHunting for reviews of both.

If you are in the market for such an animal, I just scored a bunch of Vector 21B's, NOS, 10K plus range, plus compass and inclinometer, selling for $10,000, delivered. They will out perform even the 25K Newcons, in this case for less money (brand new they are $21K+). See the above thread on Vector 21B's

That is actually a really good deal. If I were in a market for that much, I would pull the trigger on that.

Re: Range Finder

Swarovski rangefinder is tops in performance in the $1000 class. It will range a 10" steel plate to 1000 yards. Nikon makes their 1200 which is marginal at over 600 yards, but is under $400.

It would be a nice feature to have a binocular rangefinder combo. The Swaro has great glass and can be used, but it IS a monocular. I wish Swaro made a binocular rangefiender. Swaro glass is tops. Bushnells range ok, but have marginal glass. Maybe Zeiss? They make a binocular rangefinder. So does Leica. Neither range as well as the Swaro, from what I have heard.

Re: Range Finder

I am considering the Bushnell Fusion, which as a rangefinder, might be a little shy of the Swaro, but it is also a pretty good set of binoculars. You put that combo together, and depending on your needs, it might fit the bill better.
