I need a range finder up to 1500 yards. Shooting in the desert. Can you recommend a good range finder for a decent price? $300-$500 is my budget.

Bushnell Nitro 1800. Has AB Ultralite built in, can be upgraded to longer data capability, links to a Kestrel (and will give data as far as your Kestrel will), and it's nice and compact. Mine has ranged steel at 1250+ (Longest target I've been able to try) and semi-reflective (Water tower) at 2k yards.

Not gonna find a better RF/Glass for the money. Ballistics calculator is a bonus but I don't use it.
